Berbeda jauh dengan pihak musuh, yaitu kaum Quraisy dari Mekkah memiliki pasukan sekitar 1. Meski secara jumlah pasukan kaum Muslim kalah, namun kaum Muslim berhasil menang dengan gemilang melawan kaum Quraisy Mekkah. Sebanyak 70 orang dari kelompok musuh tewas dan 70 lainnya tertawan dalam pertempuran.
Sedangkan, terdapat 14 orang dari kelompok Muslim wafat sebagai syuhada. Usai berperang dan menjadi pihak pemenang dalam pertempuran, Nabi Muhammad SAW mengingatkan pasukannya bahwa pertempuran ini merupakan perang kecil dibandingkan dengan memerangi hawa nafsu.
Karena kemenangan sejati bukanlah berperang melawan kelompok lain, namun kemenangan atas diri sendiri. Kemenangan atas hawa nafsu sendiri. Kemenangan kaum Muslim dalam perang Badar memicu banyak orang berbondong-bondong ingin masuk Islam.
Termasuk masuknya berbagai kabilah yang berasal dari Mekkah dan dari sanalah mulai banyak para pemeluk Islam. Melihat hal itu, tentu memberikan kekhawatiran bagi kaum kafir Quraisy. Kaum kafir Quraisy pun akhirnya menghadang rombongan kaum Muslim yang hendak melaksanakan ibadah haji ke Mekkah.
Sehingga terjadilah perjanjian Hudaibiyah. Adapun poin-poin dalam perjanjian Hudaibiyah antara kaum muslim dan Quraisy tersebut diantaranya, Pertama, akan ada gencatan senjata antara dua pihak dan tidak ada pertempuran hingga 10 tahun mendatang. Kedua, individu atau suku bebas bergabung dengan Muhammad dan mengadakan persetujuan, sama halnya dengan Quraisy. Ketiga, jika ada penduduk Mekkah yang pergi ke Madinah maka akan dikembalikan ke Mekkah, namun jika ada muslim dari Madinah yang kembali ke Mekkah maka dia tidak akan dikembalikan.
Keempat, jika ada penduduk usia muda yang mengikuti Muhammad tanpa seizin ayah atau walinya, maka dia akan dikembalikan pada ayah atau walinya. Namun jika ada yang mengikuti Quraisy di Mekkah maka dia tidak akan dikembalikan. Kelima, tahun ini muslim akan kembali tanpa memasuki Mekkah. Namun tahun depan Muhammad dan pengikutnya bisa memasuki Mekkah menghabiskan tiga hari untuk melakukan umroh. Secara logika, perjanjian Hudaibiyah ini tentu merugikan pihak Islam. Namun atas dasar kebenaran yang dibawa oleh Islam, ternyata faktanya berbanding balik.
